NDC Chairman HOT over ‘missing’ SADA tricycles
National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman for Yendi Constituency, Alhaji Ibrahim Yaghu has been accused of allegedly swindling ten (10) farmers in the Yendi Municipality of the Northern through the then Savanna Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) in 2016.
Alhaji Yeghu in 2016 under the erstwhile Mahama adminstration is said to have received monies from between Seven Hundred Ghana Cedis (GH¢700) and One Thousand Five Hundred (GH¢1,500) as deposits for tricycles (Motor King) to be used farming activities.
According to the farmers from the Nakpachee Electoral Area, neither where they offered the tricycles nor their monies refunded after three (3) years.
The NDA in a statement Monday, 30th September, 2019 said out of the 5,000 tricycles that were imported, 3,000 were assembled, 2,239 were released/sold and 732 left under very unfriendly weather conditions. Currently, there are a total of under 2,000 of the unassembled tricycles.
But addressing journalist at a press briefing in Tamale Tuesday, October, acting CEO of the NDA, Dr. Abdul-Majeed Haroun revealed that management in the coming days will begin the sale of the tricycles and also prosecute persons when the need arises.
The victims have therefore petitioned the Northern Development Authority (NDA) through the Yendi Municipality Assembly to help them secure the tricycles following the unwillingness of Alhaji Yaghu to refund their monies.
Sir, we would like to draw your attention to the happenings in your office by your predecessors through his agent and also to prevail on you to assist us in retrieving our monies or the items. The petitioners stated.
However, efforts by TamaleOnline News to speak with Alhaji Ibrahim Yaghu proofed futile.
