Government has announced the closure of its point of enteries at the borders and ports for the next two weeks over the global outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus pandemic.
This latest measure against the spread of the virus will take effect Sunday mid-night, 22nd March 2020.
President Akuffo-Addo in his address tonight (Saturday) noted the ban is only applicable to persons entering the country.
He added transport of goods and services into the country will not be affected.
The number of test cases for the Covid-19 virus in Ghana increased from 19 to 21 with one death being recorded as at 21:15GMT Saturday, 21st March, 2020 according to the Ministry of Information.
President Akuffo-Addo also indicated retired health practitioners to volunteer in the fight against the disease.
He pleaded every Ghanaian should comply with all protocols especially by avoiding handshakes and ensure regular hand washing with soap under running water as well as the use of alcohol based sanitizers.
However, the president declared Wednesday, 25th March as National Day of Fasting and Prayer and further urged Ghanaians to joinnall religious bodies to observe the day.
