The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) has called on government to lockdown the country over the increasing number of recorded cases of the Covid-19 virus.
Ghana has recorded 68 cases and 3 deaths for the Coronavirus.
The GMA in a statement signed by its President Dr. Frank Ankrobea copied tamaleonline.net, noted the action though unfavorable but is necessary to contain the spread of the virus.
The Association therefore called on President Akufo-Addo to declare the country into lockdown with immediate effect except essential services.
“The Lockdown though not a comfortable decision for leadership and citizens alike, is a proven option backed by science and along with the other measures will ultimately be in our best interest. We call on all Ghanaians to support such a move in the national interest to save our nation from the devastating efects of this pandemic.”
