An eighty (80) year old woman has been confirmed dead after testing positive to Covid-19 in Tamale.
Northern Regional Health Director, Dr. John Eleeza confirmed the deceased was among three new cases recorded in Tamale.
This brings the total to 19 of recorded cases so far in the Northern Region.
According to Dr. Eleeza, the deceased was on admission at the Tamale Central Hospital for treatment of Pneumonia but later tested positive for Covid-19.
He added she died after the test results and has been buried by the Covid-19 burial team.
However, the two other contacts (both male patients) have been kept in self-isolation for treatment.
One is a resident of Tamale and the other from Salaga in the Savannah Region who traveled to Tamale.
Meanwhile, Ghana’s total number of cases has risen to 5,127, 493 recoveries and 22 deaths.
