The Municipal Chief Executive of Sagnarigu in the Northern region, Hajia Mariam Iddrisu has questioned the whereabouts of the two Members of Parliament in her municipality during the Covid-19 fight.
According to Hajia Mariam, MP for Sagnarigu, Alhaji A.B.A Fusieni and Alhaji Alhassan Suhuyini, MP for Tamale North have not been available in their respective constituencies to help educate constituents about the virus.
The MCE during an interview on Radio Tamale Sunday, 30th March mentioned Madam Felicia Tetteh, the NPP parliamentary candidate for Sagnarigu who has been visible in the area during the pandemic.
She extolled Felicia Tetteh for donating dozens of Veronica Buckets, hand sanitizers and soap as part of measures to combat the spread of the virus.
Hajia Mariam Iddrisu revealed assembly has setup a joint police and military taskforce to enforce President Akuffo-Addo’s directive on public gatherings and other activities.
She mentioned three health center in the municipality have been set aside to screening (test) persons who have traveled into the area from the hot spot areas.
She added there’s enough space for mass testing for the virus if the need arises.
However, Hajia Mariam has called on members of the community to abide by President Akuffo-Addo’s directives on the Coronavirus pandemic.
She also urged the public to ensure regular handwashing with soap under running water and other health protocols prescribed by the Ministry of Health and Ghana Health Service (GHS).
