Parliamentary aspirant Manaf Ibrahim called off his engagement with the people of “Musah Kashi” a suburb of Aboabo as his team clashed with fans of the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Alidu Seidu.
Both coming from the ruling party, there has a been a great deal of animosity between the two leading to a lingering legal tussle as to whether Ibrahim is qualified to contest Hon Seidu for the ticket to represent the constituency ahead of December’s polls.
The clash was a result of the feuding factions all wanting to engage the residents of the aforementioned community all in their quest to market their candidates.
Team Manaf had scheduled to meet the residents this evening at the said location but were surprised to have been chased out by supporters of Hon Alidu who claimed they also have engagement with the people of the area.
This led to a commotion between the two parties. They started throwing chairs at each other and guns fired to disperse the fans of Manaf Ibrahim.
After hours of violence, Manaf Ibrahim arrived at the scene and called his people to order.
He [Manaf] subsequently announced his engagement with the people at the Musah Kashi area is postponed to Friday.
