A deputy chair person of the National Hajj Board in charge of Finance, Alhaji Farouk Hamza has presented 45 motorbikes to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Northern, Savannah and Upper East Regions ahead of the 2020 elections.
The gesture is aimed to support the campaign activities of the party in rural communities in these regions.
At a brief ceremony on Sunday, 13th September, the Northern Regional Secretary, Alhaji Sibdow Alhassan Yakubu received the motorbikes on behalf of the Northern Regional Chairman of the NPP, Mohammed Bantima Samba, Professor Kalamonia of the Savannah Region and Upper East Regional Chairman, Anthony Namoo respectively.
Aide to Alhaji Hamza, Illiasu Sulemana who handed over the motorbikes said the gesture is aimed to empower the regional campaign teams sell the Akufo-Addo message to electorates.
According to him, “the gesture is also to support the party to reach out to the masses in the nook and crannies of the three Northern regions with President Akufo-Addo’s message.”
He added “the party has an agenda to secure more seats in the three regions and Alhaji Farouk Hamza thought it was necessary to provide the needed logistics to achieve these targets.”
However, the Northern region had 24 motorbikes, 16 for Upper East and 5 for Savannah region respectively.
On his part, Alhaji Sibdow who received the motorbikes on behalf of the three beneficiaries regions thanked Alhaji Hamza and his team for the kind benevolence towards election 2020.
He further indicated the support will go a long way to help the party in its quest to secure four more years for President Akufo-Addo and win additional seats in parliament. .
