Buipewura denies enskining Agric Minister a chieftency tittle

The Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II has dispelled publications in the media and social media of an alleged enskinment of the Minister for Agric, Dr Owusu Afiriye Akoto as ‘President of Agriculture’ at the Japka Palace at Buipe in the Savannah Region.

The honor was said to be conferred on him following the successful implementation of the Planting for Food and Jobs, Planting for Export and Rural Development, and the Rearing for Food and Jobs policies by the NPP Government.

Dr. Afiriye Akoto during his visit to the Savannah Region Tuesday, 5th October, 2019 also denied denigrating or maligning against people of the North after he came under intense pressure to apologise and resign from his position.

But the Buipewura who has been subjected to public backlashing on social media in a rejoineder said there was no such ceremony at the Palace when Dr. Afiriye Akoto visited him with his entourage.

According to him, he received the minister on behalf of the Overlord of the Gonga Land, Yabonwura Tutumbabori Assa II as part of his visit to the region.

“In my Well -come address, I asked him about what was going round on Social Media about Northerners. He denied it and went further to explain,”

The Buipewura noted.

He explained to have only offered the minister a smock in line with the customs of the Gonja Land.

“Thereafter as Custom demands I presented to him Gonja Smock.”

No where, I repeat No where was Cheiftancy Title conferred on the Agric Minister.

He emphasized.

Buipewura Jinapor II has therefore cautioned members of the public to disregard the publications and refrain from reigning insults on him on social media.
