Covid-19 Food: “Zanetor was unfairly treated” – Franklin Cudjoe

Social Media has been agog after host of Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana, Paul Adom-Otchere descended heavily on MP for Klortey Korle Dr. Zanetor Rawlings.

The first-time legislator in a viral video accused authorities of partisanship in the distribution of food meant for 400,000 vulnerable persons in Covid-19 lockdown areas.

The Gender, Children and Social Protection Minsiter, Cynthia Morrison in a statement denied the allegations before Mr. Adom-Otchere in his Thursday night editorial described Dr. Zanetor’s outburst “parliamentary” and “cruelly” asked her to behave “probably and stop misbehaving.”

President of policy think-tank Imami Africa, Franklin Cudjoe also waded into the matter indicates Mr. Adom-Otchere’s response was “unnecessary”.

Mr. Cudjoe believes Dr. Zanetor’s allegations ought to have been investigated before drawing any conclusions.

According to him, the minority MP was unfairly treated. He added the host (Adom-Otchere) could have asked for evidence.

Paul Adom-otchere it shouldn’t have been. Zanetor was unfairly treated. Just ask for evidence.

Franklin Cudjoe wrote on Facebook.

However, members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) have also criticized Paul Adom-Octhere’s conduct as “unprofessional and unethical” in journalism practice.

The Minority in Parliament who solidarized with their colleague have also called on the National Media Commission (NMC) for action against the vicious attack by the TV host.
