A hotel in Tamale (name withheld) is demanding payment of Two Hundred and Nineteen Thousand Cedis (Gh¢219,000) from the Northern Regional Health Directorate after using their facility to quarantine Covid-19 contacts.
The hotel was used to quarantine 40 health workers of the Tamale Teaching Hospital who came into contact with 10 Guineans and Burkinabes who tested positive to Covid-19.
According to the Hotel Management, the Health Directorate in the region has failed to settle the debts after keeping the health workers in isolation for 14 days at the hotel.
In his response, Regional Health Director, Dr. John Eleeza confirmed “they have been chasing us left, right and center for their money.”
Dr. Eleeza indicated the bill has be forwarded to the Northern Regional Minister’s Office and assured that the bill will be settled.
