CSE Brouhaha: “Ghanaian politicians have failed Ghana” – Hassan Ayariga

Founder and Leader of the All People’s Congress (APC), Dr. Hassan Ayariga has waded into the ongoing debate of the controversial Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) introduced by the Ghana Education Service (GES).

Mr. Ayariga observed that the political elite in Ghana have failed the country and now implementing policies to destroy the Ghanaian society, culture and the youth.

Government this week has come under massive public backlash from majority of Ghanaians who believe the introduction of CSE is a secret agenda to promote LGBT in the country.

The 2012 presidential candidate has therefore joined several others in civil society and faith based organisations against the implementation of the new curricular.

Mr. Ayariga in post on his Twitter handle indicated with the hashtag #DropCSE “Since we cannot develop our nation as politicians but at least let’s protect it for now.”

CSE Not Approved

Education Minister, Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh, said Tuesday that the government has not approved the CSE document for use by teachers in basic schools.

“The Ministry would like to state categorically that…the curriculum framework for KG-P6 that has been approved by Cabinet from the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment [NaCCA] for use in the development of school curricula and published on NaCCA website does not include anything on Comprehensive Sexuality Education,” the Minister said at a press conference.
