The All People’s Congress (APC) is set to hit the stress of Accra to protest against the upfront deduction of the controversial Communication Service Tax (CST) by telecommunication companies in the country.
The demonstration to be led by Founder and Leader of the APC, Dr. Hassan Ayariga is dubbed “No Baga Wire” and will take place from Thursday, 5th through to Saturday, 7th November, 2019 at the head offices of telecom operator in Accra.
A statement signed by Francis Ansah Tewiah, National Communications Officer of the APC vowed to turn the MTN Head Office in Accra to “Tharir Square”.
The party at a press conference last week issued a week ultimate to service providers to stop what it considers an “illegal” 9% deduction on recharge.
It also demanded for the telecos to refund monies to customers from the upfront deductions on recharge.
The APC is therefore urging the customers and the general public to join the exercise on the scheduled date.
