Aspiring New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Yendi, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama has presented 800 bags of rice to the Muslim Community in Yendi towards this year Eid-Fitir celebration.
Alhaji Farouk also offered a cash of Fifty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢50,000) for the upcoming Islamic festival over the weekend.
The donation is aimed to support needy party faithfuls, Chiefs, Imams and Opinion Leaders in the constituency.
According to Alhaji Farouk and son of late former Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama, the gesture forms part of his annual ritual of putting smiles on the faces of needy Muslims and their families during the Eid festivities.
“The huge donation is in consonance with my desire to enable needy Muslims and their families undertake the big celebration with ease and joy.”
He also urged Muslim celebrants particularly those in Yendi to continue to use the blessings of the eid to pray for continued peace and tranquility in the town especially at a time the aged dagbon feud has ended.
