Son of former late vice president Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama has on Monday, paid a visit to the Yendi Government Hospital mortuary to ascertain first hand information about the non-functioning facility in the area.
The visit forms part of his commitment to refurbish the and retool the facility after 30years.
The move by the aspiring parliamentary candidate is in responds to calls by residents to help fix to worn out facility which hasn’t been operational for over a year.
Alhaji Farouk after a tour of the facility reiterated to management of the Yendi Government Hospital his commitment to fixing challenges confronting the operations of the morgue.
Addressing journalist after the tour, Alhaji Farouk revealed due procedure is in process together with administrators to ensure work commences as soon as possible.
“So as we speak, i am ready to take care of the cost to renovate this whole building [morgue]. We brought our contractor who is going to renovate the building and ensure that all the items that are worn out after 30 years are replaced with modern gadgets,”he stated.
“The fridge is something we are going to fix and make sure that Yendi becomes an eye saw to every Ghanaian to know that our community has produced once great people like former vice Alhaji Aliu Mahama.”
