Former NPP Chairman, Bugri Naabu, enskinned Namong Chief

A former Northern Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Daniel Bugri Naabu has been enskinned Chief of Namong, a community in the North East Region.

The ceremony took place Saturday morning, 29th June, 2019 at the Nayiri Palace in Nalerigu.

He was enskinned to the chieftaincy skin by the Overload of the Mampurigu Traditional Area, Nayiri Mahami Abdulai Bohagu Shariga II as Paramount Chief of Namong (Namong Daan II).

Mr. Bugri Naabu who is also a member of NPP Council of Elders has been an active participant in community development and has also been involved in the mediation process of the ethnic conflict between the Chakosis and Konkombas In Cheroponi.

A government delegation led by the Northern Regional Minister, Hon Salifu Saeed, North East Regional Minister, Hon Solomon Boar, the Savannah Regional Minister and other MMDCEs where present at the event.

Other personalities such as aspiring parliamentary candidates from the Northern, North East and Savannah region were also present to support Bugri Naabu at the official investiture.

Political Career

Daniel Bugri Naabu was the Northern Regional Chairman of the NPP between 2014 and 2018 after a fail attempt in 2010.

His tuner as chairman saw the NPP win three additional seats (10-13) in parliament and also an increase the presidential results for then candidate, Nana Addo-Danquah Akufo-Addo.

However, his lost his position to the incumbent Chairman, Mohammed Bantima Samba at the Regional Delegates Conference in 2018.
