The seat of the King of Dagbon, the Gbewaa Palace is demanding for the removal from the Police Service, the five interdicted police officers who allegedly assaulted a truck driver and his assistant at the Gbewaa Palace last Thursday.
The palace also wants the military personnel on duty at the palace to be reprimanded for doing nothing while the police assaulted the driver and his assistant.
The Northern Regional Criminal Investigation Department was directed to probe the five officers, according to a statement signed by the Northern Regional Crime Officer, Inspector Otuo Achempong.
The officers have been named as Corporal Kenneth Amoah Korsah, Lance Corporal Prince Agyeman Duah, Lance Corporal Prince Setordzi Minadzi, Lance Corporal Bruce Xornam and Lance Corporal Samuel Takyi.
Public Relations Officer of the Gbewaa Palace, Yakubu Musah told Host of the Super Morning Show on Radio Justice on Monday that the palace is outraged that the police blatantly disregarded the traditions and customs of Dagbon that bars anyone from attacking another at the Gbewaa Palace, hence they must face the consequences.
