The Countrywise Communications has awarded Fugu Mohammed, a journalist with state owned Daily Graphic, as Best Journalist in Agriculture in the Northern Region at the 2019 edition of the Hammathan Awards.
The award was in recognition of his role in projecting developments in the Agricultural sector in the North.
The 5th edition of the awards ceremony took place Thursday, 27th February Damongo in the Savannah Region.
Nineteen (19) other selected journalists from the five Northern regions have also been acknowledge for the hard work in the different categories.
Mr. Mohammed after picking up his award thanked the organisers for recognizing his hard work. He also pledged to continue to churn out developmental contents of the North.
“It is a great privilege to be honoured for your work, I’m grateful to you for recognizing my hard work,”an elated Mohammed stated.
Mr. Fugu Mohammed has been working with the Daily Graphic and Graphic Online for the last two (2) years.
He is also the Executive Director of Media Intelligence Solutions (MIS), a Research and Media organisation based in Tamale, Northern Region.
The Harmattan Awards For Development Journalism is an annual awards scheme of Countrywise Communication, a media and development communication organisation based in Tamale in the Northern Region.
Since 2017, more than 20 journalists have been honoured for their efforts in promoting development journalism especially in the area of agriculture and climate change.
This 2019 edition under the theme: “The Role of The Media in Discovering Our Agricultural Potential”, would celebrate a crop of dedicated and hardworking agriculture reporters from the electronic, print and online media.
The awards is being organised by Countrywise Communication in partnership with the Savannah Regional Coordinating Council.
