Guinea nationals with Covid-19 to be moved to Accra – Minister

Government has made arrangements to move the seven Guineans with Covid-19 from the Northern Region.

The Northern Regional Minister, Hon. Salifu revealed the contacts will be handed over to the Guinea Embassy in Accra.

Daily Guide’s Eric Kombat reported four (4) contacts who tested negative for the Coronavirus will be handed over to the Embassy.

But three (3) out of the seven (7) contacts who have the virus and currently at the isolation center at the Tamale Teaching Hospital will transferred to a different facility in Accra.

Hon. Salifu Saeed noted Government cannot repatriate the contacts back to their home country due to the closure of borders.

He added the Guineans cannot also be allowed to leave the country on their own hence plans to send to their home Embassy in Accra.

It will be recalled the Guinean nationals packed their bags and threatened to leave their hotel claiming they do not have Covid-19.

They alleged to they kept in quarantine for the financial benefits the region gets.
