Gushegu MP withdraws from upcoming NPP primaries

The Member of Parliament for Gushegu, Dr. Ziblim Iddi has withdrawn from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries slated for Saturday, June 20, 2020.

Dr. Ziblim Iddi who is also the Deputy Tourism Minuster announced his withdraw from the contest in a letter copied to the Northern Regional Secretariat, the Chief of Staff and the NPP’s National Campaign Coordinator, Mr Peter Mac Manu.

“I arrived at this painful decision after a very broad consultation and deep introspection. I would be glad if you could kindly withdraw my application and delete my profile on the notice of Poll and ballot paper for the elections,” Dr. Iddi stated

It is unclear reasons for his withdrawal with barely two weeks to the polls in 168 constituencies across the country where the party has sitting MPs.

His decision has come as a shock to many in the constituency as they keep wondering reason(s) for such decision.
