Hajia Zuwera Defeats Savannah Regional Minister for Salaga South seat

The Salaga South Constituency which was the only seat the NPP had in the Savannah Region has been lost to the NDC’s Hajia Zuwera Ibrahimah.

The Member of Parliament Elect, Hajia Zuwera polled 20,525 to defeat the incumbent Member of Parliament who also doubles as the Savannah Regional Minister, Hon. Salifu Adam Braimah who polled 19,086. The PNC’s Candidate Mr. Mutari Abdul Jalilu manage to poll 169 and the Independent Candidate, Bagyim Abraham Mbido polled 1,802.

In an interview with Mynorthtoday.com, MP Elect for Salaga South, Hajia Zuwera Ibrahimah dedicated her victory to the youth of Salaga South and supporters of the National Democratic Congress. She added the party in the constituency has demonstrated resilience hence the victory.

She disclosed her focus will be on the youth and she will do her best to empower the women and youth in the constituency.
