The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has begun the construction of an ultramodern health center at Zinindo in the Gushegu District of the Northern Region.
The project when completed will be the first of its kind in the community who have to seek medical attention at Gushegu and other centres.
Speaking at the sod cutting ceremony, Cheif Executive of the NPA, Hassan Tampuli said the initiative forms part of the Authority’s Social Cooperate Responsibility (CSR).
He said it had become even more necessary to have such facilities across the country to support the fight against the global pandemic COVID-19.
The new facility when completed would have an Out Patient Department (OPD), Male, Female and Children’s ward, a laboratory and consulting rooms for nurses and doctors.
Present at the sod cutting ceremony was Municipal Chief Executive of Gushegu Mr. Issah Mussh, who will oversee construction of the health center.
Also present at the ceremony were Chiefs, Opinion Leaders, Assembly and Unit Committee Members of the the Gushegu Municipal Assembly.
