Member of Parliament for Gushegu, Alhaji Alhassan Tampuli has over the weekend handed over tractors to farmers in his constituency to perform agricultural tasks.
The tractors numbering five (5), were inspected by the Paramount Chief of Gushegu, Gushe Naa Abdulai Shitobu.
According to Mr Tampuli, this is phase one of three of such support for farmers in the area.
He explained the initiative forms part of moves to establish an Agric mechanism center in the Gushegu municipality.
“This is in partial fulfilment of my covenant with the good people of Gushegu, to establish an Agric mechanisation center,” he stated
He added “We envisage that, many more agricultural equipment and farm implements will be provided through our collaboration with our partners across the world, to make farmers in the Gushegu constituency feel the dividends of the excellent policies being rolled out by the government of H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.”
However, over 96% of the population in Gushegu are farmers who are engaged in the cultivation of maize, vegetables and other plants.
