The NPP parliamentary candidate for Tamale South, Yussif Yakubu says he has performed better than the Minority Leader and MP for the constituency in the last three and half years.
Speaking at the inauguration of the party’s campaign team on Sunday, 6th September, Mr Yakubu said he has brought a lot of developments to area, a feat Haruna Iddrisu failed the people for 16 years as MP.
“In my own position as parliamentary candidate, I have been able to complete 17 projects in the constituency. I have built classroom blocks, roads, and establishment of health facilities and so on.
“I have been able to support farmers under the NPP government Planting for Food and Jobs Policy and other human interventions to unemployed youths now have jobs, supporting women in trade and a whole lot,” Mr Yakubu intimated.
According to him, the Minority Leader who has held several ministerial positions under both Mills-Mahama NDC regimes failed to uplift the the constituency.
He further stated the area is lacking behind in terms of both human and economic development of Tamale South after eight years of the erstwhile NDC administration.
Mr Yussif Yakubu added his agenda and main focus is to position Tamale South with the needed development of the people.
“My agenda after launching the campaign team is to campaign rigorously for to secure the seat for the NPP and continue to develop Tamale South with roads infrastructure, education, farming and human development,” he added.
