Kafaba: Key suspect in alleged 90 year-old “witch” lynching caged

The Bole Magistrate Court has remanded in custody Mohammed Serina, the soathsayer who pronounced 90 year-old Akua Denteh a witch at Kafaba in the Savannah Region.

Serina, 40, widely known as Haji Filipino believed was arrested on Tuesday, August 4 at her hide out at Yeji in the Bono region attempting to flee the aeea after leading a mob to lynch the deceased.

She was arraigned before the Court today (Wednesday), and confirmed leading the charge in lynching the old woman in the viral video.

Hearing has been adjourned to 20th August 2020.

However, 8 other suspects have also been arrested in connection to the killing of Madam Akua Denteh.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Kafaba Community have been released from detention after he voluntarily reported himself to the Salga District Police Command.
