The Industrial Area Link road is in tatters causing serious unease to motorists using the route.
The road connecting Lamashegu, Nyohani and Sagnarigu has been in deplorable state for several months.
The situation is affecting vehicular movements with large potholes and stagnant water destroying parts of the stretch.
According to some aggrieved motorists, this resulted in several road accidents involving cargo and passenger vehicles plying the route.
A mechanic, Master Karim operating near the NDA warehouse told TamaleOnline News series of accidents have been recorded due to the bad nature of the road.
“Several trucks have somersaulted due to bad nature of the road,” he recounted.
According to him, other road users such as the yellow-yellow and motor king tricycles occasionally get stuck at the area.
Other road users have blamed the current state of the road to the ongoing construction of the Tamale Interchange.
Hundreds of long vehicles and other passenger buses traveling from the southern part of the country to Bolga, Bawku, Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger etc are compelled to use the link road due to the ongoing construction works.
However, some road users who spoke to the news team called on authorities (Ghana Highway Authority) to fix the road to avert further accidents.
