Mahama supports families of Offinso-Abofour accidents victims in Daboya

Former President John Dramani Mahama has donated a sum of GHc200,000 to the bereaved families of about 20 passengers who lost their lives in a ghastly accident between Offinso and Abofour in the Ashanti Region.

The tragic incident occurred at about 5:00am Monday, November 1, 2021 when a Sprinta bus with registration number GS 4339 – 17 loaded from Kumasi and heading towards Techiman when he collided with an articulator track coming from the Northern Region.

According to a report by state owned Ghanaian Times Newspaper, 10 children and seven adults while the injured also involved 12 children and four adults with several other sustaining various degrees of injuries.  

A delegation led by former Northern Regional Minister, Alhaji Muniru Lemuna on Monday, November 15, 2021 visited some families at Daboya-Mankarigu in the West Gonja District of the Savannah region presented the monies to bereaved family to cater for the funeral and other family needs.

Mr Mahama has also absorbed the medical bills of those injured and are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

The delegation also included former Member of Parliament Daboya-Mankarigu Obei Mahama Shayibu, Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi Yusuf Sulemana and regional and constituency executives of the opposition NDC.
