The Mamprugu Zaabuni Youth yesterday donated items worth Ghc 40,000.00 to victims of the flood that occurred on Thursday October 1st.
The items includ maize, cement, used clothes and liquid soap as part of their support to complement what government and other political parties have done in providing a livelihood for the victims in this difficult times.
The team were lead by a leader of the council of elders of the association, Mr. Chancellor Mcmathew.
According to Chancellor, the the group upon hearing the news decided to contribute its own little might to support the people, since it was a disaster never recorded in the region before with almost a full community going to the ground.
“What we’ve brought this morning is to complement what others have already done in show of support at this tragic times, but we want you to know that you’re not in this alone, we’re with you and will continously be with you. He added.
The incident on October 1st led to 384 rooms completely destroying, 80 households affected, 58 houses raised down, 938 people made homeless 6 communities of the North East Region. The communities namely, Banawa, Gaagbini, Dimia, Tinkaya, Boamasa and Guakudow.
