The Manageress of the Nyohani Children’s Home in Tamale, Madam Mawulorm Afelete has been granted bail after she was arrested for allegedly moving food items and provisions from the facility to an unknown destination.
The Northern Regional Crime Officer, Supritendent Bernard Baba Ananga said Madam Alefete was questioned and her statement were taken.
He said she was granted bail to assist in further investigations of the matter.
Madam Afelete was accosted by the youth of the community at about 6:00am Thursday morning, 27th August and later handed to the Regional Crime Unit of Northern Regional Police Command.
According to eyewitness, the embattled manageress was busted at the Tamale VVIP Bus terminal attempting to transport the “stolen” items meant for inmates of the facility.
The items included bags of maize, bags of rice, cartons of tomato paste, cartons of milk and milo, 1 got, 2 rams etc.
