Mass resignation hits Radio Tamale

At least five staffs of Radio Tamale (91.7FM), an urban and a leading commercial radio station in the Tamale Metropolis have resigned.

TamaleOnline News has gathered that two key members of the technical team, two experienced presenters and a receptionist have exited the company and have joined other media houses.

Insiders at the Lamashugu-based station disclosed that the recent developments is as result of ethnic bickering and poor working relationship between the Programs Manager and staff of the station.

The source added that the new resignations is also as result of the dictatorial leadership style and subsequent removal of two Islamic Programs without any prior notice or explanation by Mr. Robicon Mornahson who is acting General Manager.

According to the source, since the suspension of General Manager, Abdallah Yamusah (DJ Yamoo) for almost two months, the station has been in shambles and other internal issues including unpaid salaries.

“Some of the guys [employees] felt uncomfortable working with the acting General Manager due to his inability to manage the affairs of the company and have also have accused him of masterminding the suspension of Yamusah.

“They also feared that they can’t be part of the collapse of the station which they foresee approaches.” The source narrated.

However, senior reporter and producer, Fuseini Safianu had earlier tended in his resignation in May before joining Suhupiel FM in last month the station’s morning show host.
