MP pays salaries of private teachers in her constituency

Lydia Seyeram Alhassan has followed the trails of colleague Member of Parliament for North Tongue, Samuel Okudjato-Ablakwa in paying salaries of private school teachers in her constituency.

Private school teachers across the country have not been paid their monthly salaries for the past two months due to the closure of schools amid the outbreak of Covid-19.

President Akuffo-Addo by an Executive Instrument (EI) in March 2020 directed schools (both public and private) to shutdown to prevent spread of the virus.

The Ayawaso West Wougon legislator has therefore instituted a scheme to support those affect teachers in her constituency.

The gesture by Madam Lydia Alhassan is aimed to mitigate the adverse effect of the Covid-19 on their livilllihood during the period.

However, the beneficiaries have been zoned into two categories namely, Circuit 21 and 22.

Madam Lydia Alhassan will honor the first batch of disbursement for Circuit 21 on Saturday, 30th May whiles and that of Circuit 22 slated for Monday June 1, 2020.
