Telecommunication giants MTN Ghana have threatened to take legal action against Ghanaian actress Salma Muimin over allegation the company had “stollen” a sum of ¢10,000 from her Mobile Money merchant account.
The actress made these claims on Thursday 22nd October via her Instagram account and has since gone viral.
“MTN keep saying that nobody can withdraw your MoMo account with your concern but I just found out that my over 10,000 cedis from my business MoMo account has been taken. MTN is not safe anymore,” Salma Muimin posted on Instagram.
But MTN Ghana in a rejoinder sighted by TamaleOnline News said the allegations were false and misleading.
According to MTN Ghana, Salma Muimin does not have such an amount in her business MoMo account.
“We wish to state categorically and for the records that the claims made in the post are false and misleading to the public and the poster’s Instagram followers. As @Salmamumin is very much aware, the said amount was not in her MoMo Merchant Wallet and no money had been taken from her MoMo Merchant Wallet as claimed,” the company explained.
MTN Ghana has is therefore demanding an immediate apology from Mrs Salma Muimin within 24hours or be sued.
“The apology must state clearly that her claims thah MTN Ghana had taken money from her wallet was false and given same prominence as that of her iniial post failing which he business will be compelled to take legal achion against her.”
