Mubarak Wakaso gives back to boyhood clubs in Tamale

Black Stars midfielder, Mubarak Wakaso has donated 20 footballs to some colts football clubs in Tamale, the Northern Regional capital.

The beneficiaries colts clubs, Super Eagles and Real Republicans (Reps) were gifted 10 each to support their sporting activities.

The presentation was done on behalf of Wakaso Jnr by his executive assistant Muba Kafabah Afajia Friday, 20th March at the Kaladan Park in Tamale.

The gesture by the Jiangsu Suning FC star is aimed to support training activities and nature the younger generation to become the next superstars.

Coach Aminu popularly known as Amana Boys (Reps) and Coach Sharabib (Zagalo) of Eagles thanked the former Espanyol midfielder for his continuous support to them.


The 29 year-old started his football career at the colts level with Eagles and Reps in Tamale at a very young age before joining Obuasi-based Ashanti Gold SC in the Ghana Premier League.

He move to Spain in 2008 after signing for Elchi and has also played for a number of clubs in the Laliga.

Wakaso was a member of Coach David Duncan’s team at the 2005 FiFA Under-17 world cup in Peru.

He earned his first call up to the senior National Team in 2012 and has since been a regular feature for the Black Stars.

He played at four (4) AFCON tournaments and was part of the Black Stars squad at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
