NDC shakes Walewale with massive ‘Rescue Mission Walk’

The Walewale constituency in the West Mampurusi Municipality of the North East region came to a standstill when the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) held its “Rescue Mission Walk”.

The event organised by the NDC Youth Network saw thousands of party faithfuls including constituency, regional executives and former government appointees under the erstwhile administration.

The walk began at 6.30am on Sunday morning led by parliamentary candidate for the area Abubakari Abdallah lasted for about four (4) hours from Kukuazugu, through the streets of Fongni, Kperiga and to the newly constructed Tampulungu High Street.

Clad in the NDC colors, the enthusiastic crowd also walked briskly amid NDC Jamma songs in support of the NDC’s flagbearer and parliamentary candidate.

Speaking at the end of the exercise, Mr. Abubakari Abdallah said the objective of the Rescue Mission Walk organized by the NDC Youth Network was to remind party members that the NDC was ready for the task ahead during and fully ready for power in the presidential and parliamentary elections slated for December 7th.

He said “the Rescue Mission Walk was to ensure that party members remained fit and prepared to make the last push of the campaign for the NDC and Presidential candidaye John Dramani Mahama to lead the country once more on December 7”, and for him to represent the constituency in parliament for progress.

Mr. Abubakari Abdallah encouraged members to continue to campaign from house to house, market to market, church to church, mosque to mosque and everywhere that two or three people are gathered in their neighbourhoods until victory is assured.

He said the NDC government’s unprecedented achievements in education, health; agriculture, road infrastructure and the buoyant economy make it essential for registered members in the constituency to turn out in their numbers on Election Day to vote to bring back President John Mahama and make him an Mp on December 7.

The party’s candidate was joined by former appointees, notably the immediate Municipal chief Executive Hon. David Wuni who is now the Vice regional chairman, Hon. Adams Yussif Banabrisira aka Mandale, former member of parliament on two consecutive times Hon. Alidu Zakaria Iddrisu, Dr. Issahaku a parliamentary aspirant who contested with Mr. Abubakari Abdallah, Imoro Abdul-Razak the North East Regional communications officer, Mr. Rauf Naaboari a leading member of the NDC Youth Network, among others.
