Member of parliament for Sagnarigu constituency and minority ranking member on communications, Alhaji A. B. A. Fuseini has appealed to residents of Sagnarigu constituency who were affected by recent rains to vote for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to find permanent solutions to thr problems causing floods in the area.
He made this appeal when he touched base with the people of Kunyevila, a suburb of Sagnarigu municipal following the destruction the floods caused them a fortnight ago.
“I am a member of parliament because you people voted for me. And you are my source of power. So if you in trouble, I should be in haste to run to the constituency to find a way to resolve it. And I can’t do that well without your able support”, he told the people.
“All these are happening because my party is not in power. If the NDC was in government today, by now we would have found a way to deal with this issue… But, I can assure you that first year of NDC in power, we shall construct storm drains to take care of the water”, Alhaji A. B. A. Fuseini added.
According to him, the erstwhile John Mahama led administration started working on the bridges and drains, but because the party was voted out in 2016, many of the works stalled.
“…in 2016, before our government started the construction of the Kunyevila road, I used my power as deputy regional minister to influence the construction of a bridge to in the area. And it helped so much”, the MP disclosed.
On their part, the residents thanked the MP and asked that he didn’t let it end there, but should go further to fulfill the promises made.
Alhaji Fuseini was accompanied by the NDC chairman for the Sagnarigu constituency, branch executives and some youth groups.
He supported the vitamins with bags of rice, cooking oil and an undisclosed amount of money.
