“Next NDC government will cancel double-track system” – Mahama

Flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress John Dramani Mahama says he will abolish the Senior High School double track system if elected.

The double-track system was adopted by the Ghana Education Service (GES) under the Free SHS policy by the ruling NPP administration for the intake of more students to access Senior High School education.

The double-Track system is in two sessions, thus The Green Track and The Gold Track.

But addressing a large crown of party supporters at Kakpayili in the Tamale South constituency on Saturday, 28th November, 2020, the former President said his government will cancel the sift system within one year in office.

“NDC when we promise we do. We don’t promise what we can’t do,” Mr Mahama stated.

He added “So I made a promise that within one year of my being sworn in as president and the NDC coming back to power, we will cancel the double-track traffic light system.”

According to him, the next NDC government will complete all 200 community Senior High Schools (E-blocks) it had started to accommodate all the students at once.
