North East Region: Ghastly accident at Nasia leaves 11 dead, 30 in critical condition

Eleven people have confirmed dead by the Walewale Police Command following a ghastly accident at the Nasia bridge in the North East region.

The sad incident happened at about 4:00am Tuesday, 26th January, 2020.

According to information gathered by TamaleOnline News, a bus travelling with 45 passengers aboard from Kumasi in the Ashanti Region to Bawku in the Upper East region rammed into the bridge.

The vehicle somersaulted many times before wrecking in the middle of the road, causing a massive traffic jam on the Tamale – Bolga highway.

Nearly over 30 passengers who survived the fatal crush are also in critical conditions receiving treatment at the hospital.

The Walewale Divisional Police Commander, Chief Sup. disclosed to the media that the bodies deceased have been deposited at the Walewale Hospital and others at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

Chief Sup. Yaboah also assured the police is investigating the matter to uncover the actual cause of the accident.
