NPP’s Binduri parliamentary candidate cut sod for projects under $1million per constituency

The NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Binduri Constituency, Hon. Abdulai Abanga has commissioned the commencement of some projects in Binduri Central under goverment’s flagship programme of “One-Constituency One-Million-Dollars.

The projects includes the construction of a bridge, CHPS compounds, classroom blocks, market stores and 20 boreholes at Atuba, Narango, Manga, Zaago, and Alhaji 44.

Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony Thursday, April 23, to commence the construction of a bridge at Zaago, Hon. Abdulai Abanga said the implementation of the projects were in fulfillment of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s vision for economic and social transformation in the Binduri Constituency.

He also added that the projects would also prove to skeptics that the President meant well for the citizens of Binduri.

The bridge when completed will link Binduri Central to Zaago leading to Bazua. The contract is awarded to Benzu GH Ltd.

Under the same initiative, the people of Binduri Central and Atuba are to benefit from two separate 6-unit classroom block to be constructed at St. Peter’s primary school and Atuba primary school. While two CHP compounds would be constructed at Narango and Manga communities.

Again, as part of the $1 million dollar per Constituency, 10 unit Market stores will be constructed separately at Binduri central market and Alhaji 44 market.

Hon. Abanga, also mentioned that about 20 boreholes would be drilled in the Constituency, aimed at improving the provision of quality water and sanitation in the area. Communities such as Bazua, Zawse, Sakpare, Aniise, Nafkologa among others in the constituency would benefit from the project.

Hon. Ayinga Yakubu Abagre, District Chief Executive for Binduri in an interview with the media said all the projects are expected to be completed in 6 months and he further urge the contractors to do a quality work.

Mr Robert Alagskomah, the Zonal Coordinator of Northen Development Authority, said all the projects will commence simultaneously in 14 days from today and would be completed within 6 months. He urge the contractor to engage the services of the youth within the communities for skilled labour.

Speaking on behalf of the Binduri Chief, Mr. Akolbilla Yakubu, lamented the ordeal residents always go through when crossing the Bummbugu river especially during raining season. He thanked Hon. Abdulai Abanga and Nana Addo and also expressed joy for the numerous projects Binduri is benefitting from the flagship programme.
