After 62 years, we have seen history twisted to favour parents of the current leadership of our country both home and internationally. We are witness to a Ghanaian leader (Akufo Addo) called for the replacement of the STATUES of the FOUNDER of our country at the forecourt of the headquarters of the AFRICA UNION in Addis Ababa with that of Haile Selassie. What was Dr. Kwame Nkrumah crime? Absolutely nothing but hatred and betrayals from the Danquah – Busia fraternity.
I know not what course others may take leading to the independence of our country but as for me, I’m in a Free country because of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. Let us not pretend to forget why we celebrate 6th of March, it is the day Dr. Kwame Nkrumah secured for us Ghana’s independence from the British but not the ‘Judas Iscariot’ of those days Dr. Nana Kwame Kyeretwie Boakye Danquah.
Dr. Kwame Nkrumah has given you and I freedom, power, and glorious opportunity. Let each one of us make a promise to ourselves that as long as we live, we will consolidate the gains of the FIRST PRESIDENT OF GHANA.
Let us keep the flame of liberty burning high and bright, let us live in the spirit of fraternity each day and night. Let unity, peace and love lead through which we can accomplish every aim.
And all through our history, our leaders have spoken of national unity and it falls to us to keep faith in our country and all the great Ghanaians of our past.
I feel so proud to be a citizen of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah Ghana.
Happy 6th of March!
