The Qatar Foundation, an international NGO is set to offer free eye screening for 1000 persons with sight problems in the Yendi Municipality of the Northern Region.
The four-day exercise is expected to come off from Wednesday, 24th to 27th February, 2021.
The exercise aimed at diagnosing, offer free lenses and cantarat surgery for those with severe conditions.
Member of Parliament for Yendi, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama in a statement urged residents across age groups with sight issues to take note of the dates for the exercise.
According to him “those who will be identified by the surgeon and his team to require ophthalmic related medication and glasses would be served.”
The legislator thanked the Qatar Foundation for agreeing to conduct the exercise in Yendi especially for the vulnerable and less privileged.
The Qatar Foundation was founded in 1995 by a decree of Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of Qatar.
It is a non-profit organization which focuses on education, scientific research and community development.
