Dr Ibrahim Anyass, Chief Executive Office of the National Builders Corp (NABCO), has step up his campaign to lead the NPP as its parliamentary candidate in the 2020 elections.
Dr Anyass who is making his second attempt to wrestle the NDC for the seat has today [Monday], held series of meetings with polling station executives in the Tamale Central Constituency.
He has also been visiting delegates at their respective branches as part of his campaign.
The meeting was to engage them ahead of the forthcoming parliamentary primaries and to seek for their support to deliver victory for the party in the 2020 parliamentary and parliamentary elections.
The NPP appreciated in votes in the 2016 elections with Dr Anyass gunning a total of 25,230 representing 39% against the NDC’s Mr Inusah Fusieni who retained the seat with 38,581 (59%).
However, Dr Anyass has recounted he has an unfinished business in Tamale Central and is optimistic of his chances of winning the seat for the governing NPP government from the opposition NDC.
Meanwhile, the NABCO CEO would have to beat his contender Mr Zakaria Abass in the primaries.
The NPP in the Northern Region has set an agenda to increase its parliamentary representation in 2021 to 22 seats.
The Sagnarigu, Tamale Central and Tamale North and South Constituencies are among target areas for the NPP in the 2020 elections.
