CEO of Rep Your Team Jersey Foundation, Halid Prince Mukadi Gbramoni has donated some items to the Tamale Central Prison Service to aid the up-keep of the inmates of the facility.
The items included boxes of water, assorted drinks, toiletries, towels, mats, kettles, clothes, footballs and provisions etc worth thousands of Ghana Cedis.
Mr. Halid Mukadi, the Head of Sports and Marketing at Zaa Radio in his address said, the gesture was the first of its kind and forms part of the foundation’s cooperate and social responsibility of giving back to society.
According to him, it was also his personal way of extending love and support to where it is needed most.
Mr Halid Mukadi also encouraged them not to allow their current situation to make them feel inferior or demoralized in life.
The prison, he said,
“is a center for correction and anyone who finds himself or herself there will only learn a lesson and the reason to be a law-abiding citizen.”
The multiple award winning sports and media personality appealed to individuals, especially the youth, to be law- abiding citizens and stay away from acts of criminal that will put them in trouble.
However, Mr. Halid Mukadi called on stakeholders, corporate organizations as well as philanthropists to extend their support to the prisons.
He promised to continue supporting the inmates as and when the capability is available.
On his part, ASP James Mbola who received the items on behalf of the regional commander of the Tamale Central Prisons, expressed appreciation to the foundation.
He applauded the foundation for the kind gesture and indicated the service will forever be grateful.
