Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed (Wundab Faarigu) has donated 10 bags of sugar to Muslims in the Sagnarigu constituency as they embark on the 29/30 fasting in the holy month of Ramadan.
The items were distributed amongst party faithfuls of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) on behalf of Alhaji A.B.A Fusieni, Member of Parliament for the Sagnarigu constituency.
The gesture by Alhaji Wandab Faarigu was an assistant to the MP as part of efforts to maintain the seat for the NDC.
Alhaji Ahmed Wundab Faarigu was A.B.A Fusieni’s main contender during last year’s NDC parliamentary primaries.
He lost to the incumbent MP (A.B.A Fuseini) with 45 votes difference.
Fasting in the holy month of Ramadan is one of the pillars of Islam and it is observed after sighting the moon in the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. It is a month of fasting, prayer, reflection and total submission to Allah.
This year’s Ramadan comes at a time when the world is under immense pressure fighting the Novel Coronavirus pandemic.
The impact of the pandemic has affected the livelihood of many people and compounded an economic misery especially in this festive season.
However, Alhaji Ahmed Wundab Faarigu urged all Muslims to endeavour to take both moral and spiritual opportunities the holy period presents to pray to Allah to save the world of the pandemic and heal the victims of the COVID-19.
He also urged all Muslims to share the little they have.
The constituency executives led by the chairman, Alhaji Bronze received the items on behalf of the MP and thanked Alhaji Ahmed Wundab Faarigu for his kind gesture, dedicated service and his highest level of patriotism exhibited in uniting the NDC family in the constituency and beyond.
