Ramadan: MTN Ghana donates to Muslim Community in Tamale

Ghana’s leading Telecommunication giants MTN Ghana has supported the Muslim Community in the Northern Region with food items to aid the Ramadan fasting.

items presented includes bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil, soft drinks, cartons of bottle water, a lam (ram) and MTN airtime.

The items were handed over to the Northern Regional Chief Imam at the Central Mosque in Tamale, Thursday, 14th May, 2020.

Addressing journalists after the presentation, Mr. Obed Adu-Amankwaah, Area Sales Maneger Northern Region said the gesture is an annual ritual by MTN Ghana to support Muslims during month-long (29/30) days fasting in the holy month of Ramadan.

Mr. Adu-Amankwaah added similar exercise is being replicated in other regions such as Accra, Kumasi and Tarkoradi.

He reminded Ghanaians on the need to protect themselves at all times against the Novel Coronavirus pandemic.

He urged the public to continue to adhere to the Covid-19 protocols by practicing social distancing, washing of hands under running water, wearing of mask and to stay at home that is if there is nothing important to do.

Recieving the items on behalf of the Chief Imam, Alhaj Abdulai Hindu, one of the spokesperson of Central Mosque thanked MTN Ghana for the their kind gesture.

He prayed for them for their continues support to the Muslim Community and that Allah rewards the company in multiple folds.
