A total of 150 families in 13 communities in the Northern region have received food packages from the Ramadan Support Project for Eidul-Fitr celebration.
Items donated includes; 5kg of rice, cooking oil, canned tomatoes, assorted drinks and Maggi cubes.
The 4th edition of the project targeted widows, Persons With Disability (PWD) and other needy families identified by various Assemblymen and Opinion Leaders.
Project Coordinator, Alhaji Salifu Abdul-Dahim said the annual donation is consonance with Islamic teachings of giving and sharing with the less privileged in society in the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan.
According to him, the benevolent gesture is aimed to put smiles on the faces of the needy and their families on the occasion of Eid.
He envisaged the next edition of the project will be extended to families in the districts and regions.
“Our projection next year is to travel beyond the Northern region. We hope to extend the gesture to the Eastern Corridor of the region, Savanna region, North East region, Upper East and West regions In Sha Allah,” Alhaji Dahim stated.
He also thanked the Coca-Cola Bottling Company Limited, The Ghana Muslim Community in Diaspora and other individuals for their contributions and continuous support to the project.
