Ras Mubarak donates cash, food packages towards Covid-19 fight in Kumbungu

The Member of Parliament for the Kumbungu constituency in the Northern Region, Ras Mubarak has supported the Kumbungu District Health Directorate towards Covid-19 fight.

The fomer broadcaster donated Twenty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢20,000) to help with public education on the Covid-19.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the Northern region has recorded 13 cases of Coronavirus out of the Ghana’s total of 1152.

Ras Mubarak also revealed on Facebook he will be presenting food packages to vulnerable persons in Kumbungu and Jisonaayile.

According to the legislator, it was support from the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Ghana who have supported many families in deprived communities.

Yesterday I supported my District Health directorate with a cash amount of GHc 20,000 to help with public education on covid-19 in the Kumbungu District. Later today, I’ll be supporting some widows and vulnerable persons in Kumbungu and Jisonaayile with food packages donated by the Embassy of the the State of Palestine in Ghana. The people of Palestine since the outbreak of covid-19 have supported hundreds of families in poor neighborhoods in Accra.

Ras Mubarak is among nine incumbent MPs who lost their bid to present the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2020 parliamentary elections.

According to ABC news, General Secretary of the party Johnson Aseidu Nketia said Ras Mubarak lost the primaries because of poor relationship with Constituency Executives and delegates.
