Reports 2 MPs, 13 staff tested positive for Covid-19 not true – Parliament

Parliament of Ghana has denied publication by starrfm.com.gh and subsequently carried by other others media outlets that two (2) of its members and thirteen (13) staff workers have tested positive for Covid-19.

The Parliamentary Service said the results of MPs and staff who undertook the the mandatory Coronavirus test is not known yet.

Speaker Prof. Make Oquaye directed for the mandatory testing last week to ensure members are protected before the House remuse duties.

But a statement signed by the Director of Public Affairs of Parliamentary Service, Kate Addo defused the report indicating the story first published by starrfm.com.gh, a subsidiary of EIB Network is not true.

“Parliament would like to state categorically that the results of the tests are not yet known and so the report by Starrfmonline is not true.”

Kate Addo stated.

The Parliamentary Service therefore urged starrfm.com.gh to pulldown the said reportage and update the relevant information to its audience.
