The Chiefs and people of Yemo and Tumahi in the Savelugu Municipality have applauded Member of Parliament for the area, Alhaji Muhhamed Abdul-Samed Gunu for connecting the two communities to the national grid.
Alhaji Samed Gunu on Monday, 3rd August, 2020 at seperate events commissioned the projects in fulfillment of a campaign promise to the people during the run-up to the 2016 elections.
The legislator had embarked on a Rural Electrification Project to get more communities connected to electricity.
Some elated residents who spoke to TamaleOnline News said the development will improve economic activities, ensure security (protection of lives and property) and education in these communities.
According to them, access to electricity had been their major necessity for years and thanked MP for his hard work.
Addressing residents at the commissioning of the projects, the lawmaker urged them to give him and President Akufo-Addo four more year to do more.
He stressed being the best against his opponents as his good works remains a great impact in their lives.
On her part, MCE for Savelugu, Hon Hajia Ayishetu Seidu also urged members of the communities to compare the impact of the main political parties in the area.
She is however convinced that residents in the area will renew the mandate of President Akufo-Addo and Alhaji Samed Gunu as President and MP for Savelugu in the 2020 general elections.
Meanwhile, the Assembly Member, Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders and Political Actors of the two communities expressed their happiness and thanked the Member of Parliament for living up to his words and very different from everyday politician.
