Savelugu MP donates to health facilities, market centers to fight Covid-19

Member of Parliament for the Savelugu Constituency, Alhaji Abdul-Samed Gunu has presented items to the Savelugu Municipal Health Directorate and Municipal Hospital towards the fight against Covid-19 virus.

The donation was also extended to Yellow-Yellow transport operators, Pong- Tamale lorry station, the Gushie Market, Nabogu, Diare Market, Pigu, Kadia, Zoosali and Nambagla.

Items presented by Alhaji Samed Gunu include Veronica Buckets, boxes of hand sanitizers, liquid soaps, packs of disposable tissue and washing basins.

The benevolence by the MP is aimed to health workers and constituents within the Savelugu Municipality protect themselves against the Covid-19 virus.

According to the legislator at a brief ceremony on Tuesday, 7th April, the battle against the outbreak of the Coronavirus in Ghana is for the people to follow health protocols by the Ministry of Health and the Ghana Health Service (GHS).

Alhaji Samed-Gunu also admonished constituents to practice good hygiene and adhere to President Akufo-Addo’s directives such as the social distancing.

We can only fight the battle of eliminating the pandemic successful when we encourage hand washing with running water, using hand Sanitizers often and practicing social distancing,

he stated.

On their part, health workers, chiefs, heads of various associations and constituents expressed gratitude for the gesture by Mr. Samed Gunu.

They thanked him for his continuous support to the people in the area especially at this critical period.
