Supporters of Liverpool FC in Northern Ghana have held a dinner ceremony on Saturday night at the Aliu Mahama Spots Stadium in Tamale to celebrate the Club’s win of the 2019/20 English Premier League (EPL) season.
The occasion was to celebrate the Club’s season victory and first Premier League trophy in 30 years.
The cheerful fans, clad in their Liverpool gear and other club paraphernalia ate, sang and danced, networked and made marry to mark the occasion.
Convenor of the Liverpool Support Base and Regional Football Association Chairman, Alhaji Abu Hassan Rhyzoh was extremely excited his beloved club had won the tittle after three (3) decades.
An elated staunch supporter since childhood also expressed optimism that the Reds will retain the tittle for the 2020/21 season.
Other dignitaries at the Victory Party includes Vice Chairman of the RFA Alhaji Ibrahim Kessie, Deputy Head Coach of Asante Kotoko Abdullai Gazali, Senior Lecturer at UDS-Wa Dr Alhassan Musah, former Ghana Premier League goals poacher Alhaji Mohammed Choo amongst others.
Head Coach of Bagabaga Football Club, Coach Nurudeen Sham-un in an interview with TamaleOnline News said….
“it is an exciting time for us [Liverpool fans] to come together this way to celebrate and have fun with ourselves after about 30years without winning the trophy. So it is a great day for us and we are so exited.”
The Liverpool team, after the year 1990 were crowned Champions after lifting the EPL trophy for the just ended 2019/20 EPL season.
This year’s triumph is the 19th time the Reds are lifting the cup. They are second to Manchester United who are record winners with 20 Premier League titles.
