The Mayor of Tamale, Iddrisu Musah Superior has settled the fracas between him and executive members of the ruling New Patriotic Party who on several occasions petitioned President Akufo-Addo for his removal.
The Mayor over during the Eid festivities last week invited members of the party (including regional and constituency executives) who were at loggerheads at each other to his private residence at Nyeshei in Tamale as Muslims across the world celebrated Eidul-Fitir.
Mr Superior was accused of abuse of office and allegedly awarding of contracts to his cronies including members of the largest opposition NDC by some executive members of the NPP in the Tamale South and others within the Tamale Central constituency.
He was also accused of failing to fulfill promises of awarding contracts and employment to “party boys” and at times prevented from discharging his duties as the Metropolitan Chief Exclusive of the Tamale Metropolis.
The then situation stalled major ongoing work in ensuring discipline within the metropolis coupled with decongestion exercises and weeding out drug addicts and sex workers.
However, Musah Superior, affectionately called give his guest including ministers of state, other government appointees, Regional Executives led by Chairman Samba, Constituency Executives, Polling Station Executives, council of elders and NPP Youth groups across the city and some citizens of Tamale.
They dined and wined together beaming with smiles and laughter, shared jokes and socialized.
